“Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.” – Hebrews 13:3
Letters From God
We want you to know that you’re not forgotten while you’re behind bars, so we send you weekly encouragement to lift your spirits and help you to not just be a prisoner of the system, but a prisoner of God’s hope.
“Return to your fortress, you prisoners of hope; even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you.” – Zechariah 9:12
Open Arms
We know that the journey of incarceration doesn’t just impact the one behind bars, but also the loved ones still on the outside. With that in mind, we aim to support your family while you’re behind bars by providing them with free mental health counseling services.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” – Matthew 5:4
Rise Up
Once you’re released from prison, we walk with you through the re-entry process. Having walked through that process ourselves and with family, we understand first-hand what it means to need love and support upon release. Whether you need food, shelter, clothing, or reunification with loved ones, we aim to help you navigate the process wholly and holistically.
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” – Isaiah 41:10
Ready to Experience a life transformed by the love of God?

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I sign up to receive mail while behind bars?
We collaborate with the Re-entry Services team to identify who is interested in receiving correspondence from us. Ask any of the staff overseeing your incarceration and they can contact us directly to get you signed up for services.
Is there a charge for my family to receive counseling services through the Open Arms department?
No. We understand the financial strain that can befall a family when their loves one gets sentenced so we provide these services free of charge to your loved ones. They are free to make a donation to our ministry, but we do not charge intake or counseling fees. The only requirement to receive services at no cost, however, is to verify they are a family member to the person in custody.
What services do you offer when I’m released on parole?
We offer support in a variety of ways that include helping you to find employment, assisting you with remaining compliant with the conditions of your parole, aiding you in the receipt of food and shelter, and connected you with other resources that are tailored to your unique set of circumstances.
What is The Homecoming at Prodigal Point?

Dr. Flores went out of her way to make sure I never missed a weekly dose of spiritual and emotional encouragement while I was behind bars. I was ready to give up when her first letter arrived. It was just the word of hope I needed to keep going.

We received counseling services from Dr. Flores when our son was locked up. Never once did we feel judged or hopeless, but instead we felt the love of God every time we saw her while he was away. Her team’s support helped us so much to navigate the hardships of losing our son to prison.

I contacted Empowered Living Ministries and Counseling after my release because I had been receiving letters from them while I was locked up. The ELMC team was eager to hear from me and made me feel special when everyone else in society had written me off.
